I. Functions and effects of thoracolumbar braces

1. Fixing the spine: By limiting the range of motion of the thoracolumbar spine, reduce secondary injuries caused by trauma, fractures or postoperative instability.

2. Correcting deformities: For structural abnormalities such as scoliosis and kyphosis (hunchback), gradually adjust the spinal alignment through mechanical compression or traction.

3. Relieve pain: Reduce chronic pain caused by muscle strain, disc herniation or degenerative lesions, and improve daily activities

4. Postoperative protection: After spinal fusion or vertebroplasty, provide a stable environment for bone healing and reduce the risk of internal fixation failure.

II. Applicable population and indications

1. Spinal injury: such as thoracolumbar compression fractures, vertebral slippage, etc. require short-term fixation

2. Spinal deformity: adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (Cobb angle 20°~40°), hunchback caused by ankylosing spondylitis.

3. Degenerative diseases: lumbar spinal stenosis, osteoporosis with vertebral deformation, etc. require long-term support.

4. Postoperative rehabilitation: when activity needs to be restricted after spinal fixation or discectomy.
